High School Students English Conference
Regional EFL Teachers Competition The Best Lesson Plan
named after Natalia Krasikova
The American Culture Center in cooperation with Alumni Board of East Kazakhstan American Corners Association and Ust-Kamenogorsk EFL teachers Association conduct a regional EFL teachers’ competition entitled Best Lesson Plan named after Natalia Krasikova. The project intends to advance American Corner resources, provide USG alumni with opportunities to share their U.S. experience, and encourage school teachers to create original lessons about the USA that will help further their professional development.
Natalia Mihailovna Krasikova, a talanted EFL teacher, was a supervisor of school-gymnazium #38, participant of five international programs and USG alumna. She left after her several generations of grateful students and a lot of city and oblast teachers who can call her their Trainer. Natalia Krasikova contibuted much into American Culture Center programs and stood at the origin of this project and first provided her lesson plans on the USA.

Media-lessons
One of the services of our American Culture Center is holding media lessons for students of secondary schools. Presented lessons are worked out by ACC staff. You can use them at the library or at your classroom. All the materials on these pages are free for you to download and copy for educational use only.

Language is a Mediator of Friendship and Collaboration
 
Language is a Mediator of Friendship and Collaboration is a title of annual high school students Conference initiated by the American Culture and Municipal Education Department. This year the East Kazakhstan Pushkin Library hosted it for the fourth time. The language of the Conference is English. The Conference aims at promoting the role of English as a language of international communication.
The conference gives an opportunity to students to test their knowledge of English, to investigate printed and electronic resource of the Center; it attracts students to explore English data base. This year 22 research papers were considered by the jury. 10 of them were chosen for presentation at the conference. Jaime Teijeiro, EKSU teacher, the Jury Chair, said: “All of you have done great work and we even had some troubles to choose the best.”
The best research paper was announced “Modern Youth Subcultures” made by Aubakirova Aizhan and Bayandarova Diana, 10th grade of school N38.This year winners are also Abdildina Danara, School ¹38 10th Grade, with Slang – an obstacle or not?,and Meirembaev Damir, school #24 9th grade, with Abbreviations and sms-language in our life, and Zhumadilova Aigerim, school #44 9th grade, with Origin of Proper Names.
